What it does look like though is a Robert Rodriguez movie. If you can put up with seeing nuns getting beaten , doing drugs , getting raped and then killing the bad guys. The movie does end with a hint at a sequel which circles back to my man Mr. And from the positive reviews-- 5-stars??! That may not sound like something that a movie really should be given too much credit for, but once you've seen one revenge movie especially 70s era ones , you've kind of seen them all in regards to their main plot points and they are usually paper thin plots; this had a lot more going on. The rest is either rape or girls forced into some form of prostitution. From what I can remember, it was a cool movie and I was actually going to try and watch it tonight but I got sidetracked with looking at other revenge and vigilante type movies and then I came across it - Nude Nuns with Big Guns. Plenty of nudity and violence as the title is fitting for what you see in the film.
This movie is as crazy as its title. Long ago, I watched Barbarian Queen for the first time and found myself revolted by the rape scenes in that film. What this movie is though is a massive homage to the 70s era 'grindhouse' and s exploitation genres, or nunsploitation to be exact! The movie leaves off with the suggestion that there is going to be a part 2. I learned so much about myself watching this film. All reviews are submitted by other horror fans just like you aka our subscribers! I liked it overall , it shocked me at times, being a catholic I was left shaking my head. I can't really expand on the plot too much more without spoiling aspects of the story which I have to say they do a good job of weaving together things that happen in different parts of the movie. Again, trigger discipline does not seem to be in her dictionary… Colt 1878 shotgun For her confrontation with the devious Father Carlito, Sister Sarah packs a sawn-off.
Back to the plot - the movie follows this nun after she almost overdoses and then is saved by a witch doctor yes there is a random witch doctor in the movie. Sarah received her divine mission while high on heroin, and her conversation with the Almighty seems to have been fairly in-depth. But really, this just ads to the 70's grindhouse and the s exploitation feel of the whole movie. What a title and with a title like that, my interest was peaked. The title alone will be off-putting to some, however the acting, while definitely over-the-top, fits the subject matter of the film, especially that of the lead character played by Asun Ortega.
Either way, it does fit and most of the soundtrack is on point with a few songs being a bit too loud at times for no real reason. Nude Nuns With Bug Guns has all the ideas but none of the balls or talent to back those ideas up, which is a mighty shame as this film could have been something quite special. Nude Nuns with Big Guns is a captivating tale about a man named Chavo, who runs some type of criminal gang focused on the distribution of narcotics. My germophobia was ringing alarm bells in my head just watching the footage of it. This will help others know what types of movies you like when they are reading your reviews! Anyway, this is a film about women of the cloth, often in various states of undress, that possess firearms physically larger than the average firearm available on the market. If you have any issues adding a flair, please. Packed with sex, violence, and wall-to-wall mayhem, this outrageous modern cult favorite in the tradition of the greatest drive-in action classics proves that hell hath no fury like a nude nun scorned! I can remember just wanting to throw up several times during my initial viewing of that film.
As a cult movie, it's a classic. Do yourself a favor and view an excellent movie that is outside the comfort zone of most people. Some have the characteristic ejector rods removed or shortened and most of the time they are carried in a casual style in a belt across the hips. The soundtrack is even worse than the acting!! And if the plan was to make it over the top and fun, well, it misses that trick too. It is likely that for budgetary reasons most guns have been procured from suppliers of non-firing replica guns. Some people will hate this movie and not see the appeal.
It's a blast and ends up being a better movie than I would have ever expected. The one survivor ends up being drugged and prostituted against her will. We start with a bus of nuns getting shot up for one of them trying to steal some bikers coke. Unidentified pistol Father Carlito takes an unidentified compact gun from a cut-out bible when Sister Sarah catches up with him. This is also a film about rape. After deciding to take her vows at a convent, Sister Sarah becomes enslaved and victimized by the drug-pushing predators within the church walls and, on the verge of death, receives a divine message — to seek revenge! Filmed on a relatively low budget, the movie has the same ingredients as such classics as and ; sleazy bars, violent encounters, dusty road-side gas stations and artfully shot Texmex landscapes with accompanying dramatic Mexican guitar play. No, what I would like to criticize is myself for watching this film in its entirety and enjoying it.
Which brings me back around to the title of the movie. There are also times where the dialogue does get a bit too quiet and a lot of the cast have accents so it can be a bit hard catching everything, subtitles helped with this. Have you never heard of common courtesy? I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. Aside from his continual treating of objects like women, he threatens his underlings by pointing a loaded firearm at their genitals. I was on its wavelength.
And then Chavo gets shot in the penis. From start to finish there was just enough edge nudity and violence to keep the story moving along, without getting nauseating or stupid. The fighting is so choreographed, you'd think Paula Abdul was in the corner walking them through it! Maybe if you had never seen a movie like this before and had no idea what to expect. Meanwhile, I sit with my drunken fried rice and keep eating it while the rape transpires. There's so much wrong with this film, I'm struggling to find anything right! Nude Nuns With Big Guns is a movie about a strong woman who fights back against men and corrects past wrongs.
So anyway, the final showdown takes place as Sister Sarah walks into the room where Chavo is raping Sister Angelina. During an argument with members of his gang, Chavo is using his to make his point come across. I mean, the only logical inference is that somehow for some reason! Don't get me started about the music! It looks like he's getting some bigger roles, including in Rob Zombie's upcoming movie. Nude Nuns With Big Guns has all the working of a classic, sleazy little film based in the sweaty, hot and smelly underbelly of a dirty stinking country town, but it falls flat on its arse. Seeking revenge, she finds the biggest gun possible and sets about mercilessly killing everyone in her way as she sets off on a revenge mission that should have been good fun. Not for the Holy-at-Heart, Nude Nuns With Big Guns will quickly rise to the pinnacle of the nunsploitation genre.
